Ray Wilke leads this tour of the Shoin House, located in the Malott Japanese Garden, or Sansho-En. Both the house and the garden were designed by Koichi Kawana. Visit http://www.chicagobotanic.org/explore/japanese.php for more information on the Malott Japanese Garden.

  1. My family and I are planning to have a garden tour this coming 2013. And I would like to know if how much time is needed to complete the tour. Please e-mail me so I am updated on this. Thanks..

    • Hello,
Thanks for the question! Someone from Group Tours should be emailing you shortly, but for others, you may want to visit our Tram Tours page for information on the 35-minute tours. http://www.chicagobotanic.org/tram/
Because the Chicago Botanic Garden is 385 acres, you may want to also allow time to walk around. You could spend 2-8 hours walking through the 24 display gardens, including three greenhouses. We also have indoor exhibitions in the Plant Science Center and Regenstein Center as well as a Garden Cafe for refreshments and a Garden Shop for a great selection of gifts. Hope you enjoy your visit!
